Mahjong Tide on Poki
Privacy policy
This policy covers the edition of Mahjong Tide published on Poki. It asks you for nothing: there is no account, no sign-in and no email, and the game keeps your progress on your own device.
Who we are
Mahjong Tide is made by Sylvain GRAVEJAT EI, a French sole trader, 60 rue François 1er, 75008 Paris, France. For any question or request about your data, email [email protected].
On your device
Your progress (boards cleared, Flow Waves, pearls, paintings collected, badges) and your settings are kept in your browser's local storage. They are not sent to us. Clearing the site data in your browser removes them. If you are signed in to a Poki account, Poki may keep a copy of this saved game for you, under Poki's privacy policy.
What we do not do
This edition has no account and no purchases. Mahjong Tide does not run its own advertising, its own gameplay measurement or its own error reports here, and sets no cookies of its own.
Poki
Poki publishes the game and provides its advertising and its measurement. The game tells Poki, through Poki's game SDK, when play starts and stops and when an ad may be shown, and sends it game events with no personal information in them, such as a board started or cleared (its mode and size, or its Flow Wave), a hint or undo used, a badge earned or a pearl total reached. What Poki collects and how it uses it, for ads included, is described in Poki's privacy policy.
Multiplayer tables
Multiplayer is played at private tables, with people you invite. When you open or join one, the game connects to our table server, at mahjongtide.com. While the table is open, the server holds in memory the player name you chose, a random identifier your browser keeps so that you can rejoin after a dropped connection, your colour and portrait, and the moves played at the table. The other players at that table see your player name, colour, portrait and moves. Tables are not written to a database: a table is forgotten once it has closed.
Your IP address is used in memory, for as long as it is needed, to limit connection attempts and protect the service. It is not kept with the table. Player names pass a profanity filter, and a name it refuses is shown as "Player". Please do not use your real name, or anything that identifies you, as your player name.
The table server is hosted by Hetzner in Germany, behind Cloudflare, which delivers and protects the connection.
Children
The game asks nobody for personal information. The only thing you can type is a player name at a multiplayer table, and it is kept only while the table is open.
Your rights
Where the law gives you rights over your data (access, correction, erasure, objection and others), you can use them by writing to the address above. Since we keep nothing about you outside a table that is open, there is usually nothing to hand over or delete; your saved game is in your own browser. You may also complain to the French data-protection authority, the CNIL.
